The Thalassemia patients and parents, technicians, nurses, doctors and scientists met at the 4th International Thalassemia Summer School (ITSS) in Antalya between the 23rd and 27th of April 2006.

A total 480 persons from 12 different countries were participated.

With the participation of many precious scientists, we had an opportunity to review thalassemia, particularly on the basis of genetics and prevention programs, management of the disease and complications and psychological problems of disease. Experts on thalassemia and the members of thalassemia society including patients and parents had a chance to discuss about the problems and available solutions. We would like to thanks to all chairs and lecturers.

We celebrated “Children Festivals” on the 23rd of April 2005 with famous journalist, writer and singer Tayfun Talipoğlu and his orchestra is named Yol Arkadaşları.

Second night, international famous singers Aydın and Tünde were supported to thalassemics.

Third night, thalassemics were enjoyed with a lot of old famous singers such as Yasemin Kumral, Berkant Akgürgen,Çoşkun Demir, Atilla Atasoy, İskender Doğan, Yeşim Yılmaz, Asu Maralman, Salim Dündar, Banu Kırbağ, Tülay Rizeli, İsmail Hakan Eren and Funda Sevilay At gala dinner, thalassemics were enjoyed Zeliha Sunal ve orchestra.
